Each of our Hilltop companies based in McLean, VA are growing and we are now hiring for various positions (both experienced and recent graduate) as noted below. The Hilltop Companies include a Financial Services and Real Estate consulting firm (Hilltop Advisors), an accounting and specialty audit firm (Hilltop Accounting), a data technology consulting firm (Hilltop iSolutions) and a Federal finance agency consulting firm (Hilltop Government Solutions).
Professional services positions (Accountants and Consultants) that are available involve performing the following types of client services:
- Operational enhancement consulting,
- Litigation support,
- Regulatory compliance reviews and remediation,
- Securitization transaction modeling and deal assessment,
- Database/warehouse design and use,
- Financial and IT controls design and assessment,
- Financial Crimes assessments including fraud investigations,
- Internal audit services (primarilty bank and mortgage entities),
- Audit readiness services (Federal agencies, bank compliance audits, etc.),
- Accounting advisory (CFO/Controller outsourcing) to growth companies,
- Accounting services (financial statements, budgeting, reporting, systems implementation, audit preparation, etc.)
- Risk management policy and process assessments,
- Merger and acquisition due diligence (financial, operations, technology, compliance, etc.),
- Performance measurement (benchmarking),

We are looking for strong candidates who fit into one or more of the following categories and their experience is as noted below:
- Accountants Entry level to 7 years experience
- Controller/Asst.Controller 4+ years experience
- Auditors Entry level to 7 years experience
- Federal Accountant/Auditor 2+ years experience
- Bank Internal Auditor 2+ years experience
- Regulatory compliance consultant 5+ years experience
- Ex-Federal bank examiners 5+ years experience
- Commercial/SBA loan reviewers 5+ years experience
- Ex-FHA or Ex-Ginnie Mae 2+ years experience
- PMO, PMP, Project manager 5+ years experience
- Fair Lending, TRID expert 5+ years experience
- Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac 2+ years experience
Compensation is based on actual length and type of experience as relevant to our business. The likely range of salaries is $45,000 to $100,000 plus health/welfare benefits and pension.
Our minimum requirements are as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably accounting, finance, economics)
- Familiarity with financial statements,
- Project management engagements will require prior project oversight, monitoring and reporting,
- Strong analytical skills (good with numbers very important),
- Strong communications skills,
- Strong organization skills,
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills,
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various work environments,
- Attention to detail, and
- Willing to work hard!
Prior industry experience in any of the segments is a major plus:
- banking,
- lending (any kind),
- loan servicing,
- mortgage banking,
- real estate,
- accounting firm with financial services, real estate, high tech, health care entities, government contractors, non-profits, professional firms, and other mid-sized clientele,
- Federal agencies (our targets are HUD, FHA, Ginnie Mae, SBA, Energy, Education, OCC, FDIC, FED, Treasury, SEC, USDA lending)
Certifications, skills and/or experience as follows is a major plus:
- Prior consulting or accounting firm experience
- Any of the following certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Fraud Expert (CFE)
- Certified Fraud & Forensics (CFF)
For Federal consulting/accounting positions – have basic understanding of:
- DoD’s FIAR methodology and requirements,
- CFO Act,
- Credit Reform Act,
- Other Federal guidance to agencies.
- A-123 and/or A133 audit experience
